October 2026 - A Revamped Command Center, Budget Audit Logs, & More

This month’s updates give your agents a home of their own, along with a long-requested audit log for your budgets, Job Teams to keep track of who’s who on every job, and new ways to bill labor and quantities on your draws.

🤖 A new home for your agents

The Command Center got a full revamp this month and now opens from the switcher at the top left, so everything about your agents lives in one place. These updates are available to customers using Adaptive agents, so if you’d like to learn more, reach out to your customer success coach.

  • A new agent library that brings every agent available to you into one place

  • Dedicated pages for each agent, with its reports right there so you can see what it’s been working on at a glance

  • New agents released this month that invite subcontractors to bill, follow up on AR collections, coordinate change orders, send customer project updates, set up new jobs and vendors, review AP sales tax, and edit transactions based on your rules

  • The Prepare Billings agent now supports lump sum billing and markups

📋 An audit log for every budget

One of our most requested features is here: you can now see a full history of changes made to your budget lines. Scroll below the budget table on any job and you’ll find a new Activity section that shows who changed what and when, so you never have to piece together how a number moved.

  • Each save shows up as one entry, like “Cost budget edited,” with who made it, when, and how many lines it touched

  • Expand an entry to see each line it changed, with the old value crossed out next to the new one

  • Covers changes to lines and markups, imports, and edits made through the API

One thing worth knowing: we only recently started recording most budget changes, so older budgets won’t show their full history, but everything from here on will be there.

💵 Bill labor and quantities your way

Labor rates you set once: Billable rate groups are a new billable rate option for jobs, so you can set your labor rates one time and use them on any job instead of entering them again for each one.

Quantities, now on your draws: Following last month’s quantity tracking rollout, quantities now carry through to billing. Budget lines can store a billing price per unit, billing quantity columns show on both the budget table and the draw schedule, and you can roll quantities up on the job budget when you want the totals in one place. Lines also support negative quantities now, and Sage Intacct and Spectrum exports include quantities and unit prices.

To start using quantities, turn on Set quantities and unit rate per line in General Settings.

👷 Job Teams: who’s who on every job

You can now set up a Job Team for each job, so the people working on it and the role each one plays are listed right on the job. Head to Job settings → Set up, add a role like job site lead, and pick the people who fill it.

  • Add both Adaptive users and employees, including people who don’t have an Adaptive login

  • Copy a team from another job instead of building it from scratch each time

  • Job Teams are for communication only, so they don’t change anyone’s permissions or what they can see

  • Agents that reach out to the field, owners, or anyone else tied to a job can use the team to find the right contact

🗂️ Cost codes built for each job

Every job can now have its own list of cost codes, so your team only sees the codes that belong on that job when they’re coding bills, expenses, timesheets, and budgets. Job-scoped lists are rolling out gradually, so if you’d like to get started, reach out to your customer success coach.

  • Create codes for a single job, or make a job-only copy of a global code with its own mapping to your accounting system

  • Exclude global codes from specific jobs, and manage those exclusions in bulk

  • Override the linked expense or income account for a cost type on a specific job

  • Cost code and account pickers across budgets, bills, expenses, and timesheets update automatically to match each job’s setup

You’ll manage all of it from the Accounting page.

⚡ Quick hits

  • Every page now has the same Search, Filter, and Filter by date bar at the top, so finding a record works the same way everywhere

  • Purchase order totals now add up everything in your filtered view, and you can bulk export POs from the Purchase Orders page

  • Clicking into a field now selects the whole value, so you can type right over it

  • Activity logs on bills, expenses, POs, jobs, and more now show the five most recent items first, with sorting and an All, Activity, and Comments filter
